• Wow! What a moving morning. This was the first time our church worshiped together in one location since our baptism service the first Sunday in September.
  • We kicked off our new series "Greater Things" with a powerful service focused on what God has done in the past year, and what we're expecting him to do in the coming year.
  • The band was off the charts good...loved having the keys in the mix...this is the bitter/sweet part of being back in one location. It's bitter to not be running two sites right now, but it's sweet as all get out to be together in worship!
  • Both services were pretty packed today...sounds like we had about 380 people worship with us...I think almost everyone from the Pekin campus made the drive over because I saw a ton of new faces!
  • I felt kinda bad that today was their first day with us though because I really was struggling to preach today. I was pretty sick. Didn't get a lick of sleep last night. I was up tossing and turning with the chills and fever...yuck...by the end of the second service I was so week I actually didn't think I could stand up...you may have noticed I cut the message short by 2 points if you were in that service...still feel like junk too...I'd covet your prayers as this vision series is a big time commitment and I've got two additional days of work with some other leaders on Thursday & Friday.
  • Wow that sounded like whining...sorry.
  • Some of the things that pumped me up from today: sharing that there are 385 children who attend at least once per quarter! Wow! Just wow!
  • The positive things that are happening in our student ministry "Switch"!
  • Knowing that we've seen 183 people in the last 12 months make a first-time or re-commitment of their life to Jesus Christ!
  • Watching the baptism video from earlier this year with 38 people being baptized! Just awesome!
  • I'm so pumped to challenge our church to the following things in 2010: 1. Investing in continuing our work in Pekin! 2. Invest in Greater Things Globally as we send out 2 mission teams, and give over $30,000 to others. 3. Invest in Greater Things Locally as we work together to raise $40,000 for a downpayment on our first facility in Tazewell County!
  • Huge shout out to everyone who made a decision today to honor God first in their finances. I know it's one of the most challenging things for us to do, but many of you did today and I hear we had a record offering as a result...way to go BridgeWay...God really is going to do Greater Things this year!
  • What a year it is going to be!
  • Okay I'm shot...can't wait to see you all next Sunday for week 2 of Greater Things!
  • Oh yeah, and don't forget you'll get to hear about our 2 mission trips we'll be taking next year.
  • Oh yeah, one more thing...don't forget to plan now to attend one of our 2 Greater Things Gatherings coming up this Saturday at 10am or next Thursday at 7pm.
