Another great day at BridgeWay! We kicked off a new series today called Entourage. I've already talked with several people who were inspired and encouraged by the ideas of embracing people who make you stronger and draw you closer to Jesus and ignoring the people who are telling you to settle for the status quo. Here are some of my thoughts from this weekend:
  • It was a very full weekend from Friday night until this afternoon.
  • Friday was Celebrate Life and I hung out with about 200 teenagers until 11pm holding tryouts for my Celebrate Life Soccer team.
  • Saturday we traveled to the thriving metropolis of Assumption, IL for the State 7th grade girls volleyball Elite Eight. Helena's team won their first game 25-17, 25-12. Then they faced Cillicothe in their semi-final matchup. Chilli was 25-0 coming into the tournament. Our girls lost a close first game 21-25. Then came back from 9 down in the second game to win 26-24. They closed out the last game 25-12, and moved on to the state championship game this Tuesday night! The last two games were some of the best volleyball they have played all year. Tuesday night should be fun!
  • Sunday was time change Sunday...probably my least favorite Sunday of the year. I had a terrible time dragging my sorry tail out of bed and must have hit snooze about 7 times before I finally got my self around. Once I got going everything was pretty smooth, but that first half hour was rough.
  • Chuck and the band did a great job on two new Steve Fee tunes to open the service today! Loved the message of both of these songs...we'll definitely be doing them again in the regular rotation.
  • I loved hearing the congregation really singing out on "You Never Let Go".
  • I'm excited about having 2 services for Easter! Last year we had 270 people on Easter and were running about 160 at the time. This year we're averaging 220 and should easily have 350 people for Easter...begin praying now about who God would have you invite this Easter!
  • If you can try to serve a service and attend a service this Easter!
  • Be sure to pick up your Easter Invites next weekend for Operation Egg Drop! You can even get them early by stopping by the church office this week!
  • Can't wait to see you all again next Sunday!
