I'm fat. Yup that's right. I'm fat and out of shape.
Not just physically, but spiritually too.
And about a month ago God spanked me good about both of these areas.
So for the last 3 weeks I've changed things up:
Changed my patterns of rest (getting 7-8 hours in stead of 5-6) by going to bed at 10pm and getting up at 5:30am.
Changed my patterns of spiritual formation (scripture, prayer, journalism) by moving it from the office to my home first thing in the morning...5:30am to be exact.
Change my patterns of physical formation (yup round is a form) by spending at least 45 minutes exercising before I start my day.
So why put this embarrassing stuff out here? Because I need accountability...and you probably need to know that you're not alone.

Dale, I know you can do it. Amanda and I are doing a similar plan. We have been successful at working out for the past 3 weeks. I've had to get a smaller pair of pants as my other pair was falling off and a new belt, well, because just losing weight. I've been getting a few comments here and there as well. It's nice to know we are in the same boat. We usually try and get to our workout at 6am, but I am in vacation mode since losing my Sprint job. But, good news, I may have landed a new job. Offer letter is pending. I think my new energy and new found charisma made my interview skills much better. Anyway, keep strong!

I'm not sure the world is ready for a Dale with MORE energy. You are about as good as anyone I know at setting goals, developing plans, and seeing them through. May God bless your efforts and bring glory to Himself through them. He needs some lean, mean, preachin' machines in Central IL. :)

Ross - man that's awesome! On both fronts. Been praying for you as you've been looking for a new employer.
Scott - thanks bro...a big reason for some of the changes is I couldn't see myself being able to lead into my 60's the way I was going.
