• Week 2 of our series "Mythbusters"...today I preached on the myth "there are many ways to God"
  • Probably one of the most important myths you could ever address in your life.
  • Ultimately, how you answer this question will impact your life for all of eternity.
  • Daylight Saving Time Sunday today.
  • Apparently, Daylight Savings Time affects church attendance...who'd a thunk!
  • We are usually down about 20-30% on DST weekend...this weekend was no exception...I think we were down about 100 people today...and we still had at least 3-4 first time guests check us out.
  • Told people that it was so early that I was doing good just to get my toothbrush in the correct facial orifice this morning.
  • Did some tough theological heavy lifting today.
  • I saw a lot of heads nodding in both services today when I talked about the myths that "all religions are basically the same" and "that Jesus wasn't a real person, or that he was just a man." Definitely answered some questions that people had on both of these two issues.
  • Ultimately, I challenged people to do some heavy theological lifting for themselves. Far too many people simply believe in Jesus because someone told them they should, and never really examine the truth about Jesus for themselves.
  • I'm glad that I pastor a church where it's okay to have doubts and questions, and to be on a journey of faith.
  • Even with the early (at least seemingly early) start this morning the band was alive.
  • Did a new song for us today called "Salvation is Here" by Hillsong United....really great song...tough time with it at 9:30, but at 11 it was great.
  • The band also took some risks today, doing a Hoobastank song called "Same Direction"...it's a all out rocker that talks about the bands belief that everyone is headed in the same direction spiritually...a perfect set up to the message for the day.
  • Speaking of taking some musical risks...don't miss two weeks from today when I talk about "Myths about Heaven and Hell"...the band is going all out, and will be performing a song that will definitely have people talking!
  • Announced our Easter plans this morning!
  • We're renting the Keresotas Theater in Pekin and running 4 worship experiences: 2 at 9am and 2 at 11am on Easter Sunday.
  • We're also going to be doing a killer outreach called "Operation Egg Drop 2". We'll be bringing in a helicopter and dropping hundreds of Easter Eggs for all the kiddos at 10:15 on Easter Sunday, between our two worship experiences.
  • We're creating room for up to 1,000 people to be with us for Easter, so be sure to start praying about opportunties to invite your freinds and family...it's going to be great!
  • We're also going to be kicking off our God at the Movies series on Easter...definitely a don't miss series.
  • Wow! I'm getting excited about Easter!
  • Crazy weather today...nearly had the doors get blown off our trailer today from 60 mile per hour wind gusts!
  • Saw several Interstate signs broken off from the wind...crazy!
  • Be sure to congratulate Matt Robinson when you see him...he graduated from Seton Hall over the weekend with his Masters in Strategic Leadership...that's a pretty big deal my friends!
  • Just found out I'll be going to Kansas City for a meeting about Church Planting tomorrow, so I'll be gone until Wednesday...should be fun!
  • Can't wait to see you all next Sunday!

Great message on Sunday. I missed it in person but have listened in the car and at work several times this week.

I hope the trip to K.C. went well and you arrive safely back.

Thanks...the trip was a great chance to meet with other church plant pastors and plan for starting other new churches...good stuff.
