Nearly all of us have heard of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, or the 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership; but I'm convinced there's 1 thing that leaders must do if they are going to be successful.

So what is it?  Check out Joshua 1:8 and find out for yourself.

Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

So I guess I lied.  It's really 3 Things Leaders Must Do.

1. Know God's Word - what you think means jack compared to what God thinks.
2. Meditate on God's Word - absorb it, let it become a part of who you are, not just information, but transformation.
3. Act on God's Word - have the courage to actually do what it says to do.  Especially the stuff you disagree with.

I'm reading through the Bible chronologically this year, and this was from today's reading.  I'm trying to meditate on God's word daily.

So how about you...what's your plan?  Are you in scripture daily?  If not I guarantee it's hampering your leadership.
