• Great second week for our Q & A series!
  • Huge shout out to our set-up team who braved -12 degree weather at 6:30 this morning to make it all happen today!  Dang it was cold! You guys are some real men!
  • Another record attendance today with right at 400 people in worship...it was really full both at 9:30 and 11:00.
  • The band really brought it today!
  • Loved the energy in both services.
  • The worship set was great...Lord You are Good, Spring of Life, Love is Here, and How He Loves Us...just powerful stuff!
  • The U2 cover was really strong too...we did "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"...I think that's the 3rd time we've done it in 5 years.  Maybe a little much for a cover, but it sets up the message well.
  • I had a chance to address three tough questions on sexuality today (5 if you count the 2 secondary questions I answered)...I like teaching on tough topics, but it definitely is a challenge....I'm toast afterwords.
  • I answered the questions: How far is too far sexually?  Can a divorced person remarry?  Is it still pre-marital sex if we already consider ourselves a family?  Is there anything off limits int he marriage bed? and What does the Bible say about homosexuality, and can someone who struggles with homosexuality be a Christian?
  • I was running long at 9:30, so I wasn't able to speak to the homosexuality questions, but was able to at 11am.  So we uploaded the 11am audio to the website.  You can listen to it here.
  • In case you don't have time to listen to the audio, I'll try to post my notes on the homosexuality questions on my blog later this week.
  • A couple of principles that guided the message today...
  • As Christians we are not primarily identified by our sexuality, but by our relationship to Christ.
  • We need to create moral margin in our lives.  The question isn't how far can we go, but how much margin should we keep sexually.
  • Marriage should be honored by all.  That means married people and singles should both honor marriage.
  • If it dishonors your spouse, it's off limits in the marriage bed.
  • We should talk openly and honestly with our spouse about our sexuality, and not just assume we're on the same page.
  • Okay, that's a lot of sex talk...did I mention the service today was rated PG?
  • We also promoted our next semester of LifeGroups...you can sign up on our website...here.
  • Our next All About BridgeWay Lunch is Sunday, January 31st...don't miss it if you're looking to take your next steps in getting involved at BridgeWay.
  • We strategically planned it for the 31st becuase there's no playoff football that weekend...no excused guys.
  • Looking forward to addressing some more of your questions on my blog later this week.
  • Our staff is also gearing up to plan our ministry calendar for the 2010 year later this month...I'm working through my teaching calendar for the year this week.  Any topics, issues, or scripture you'd be interesting in seeing addressed?  Leave your thoughts in the comments.
  • Taking some ibuprophen to help with a splitting headache, and watching some playoff football.
  • Oh yeah, our youngest Mia stuck her tongue to a metal handrail leaving a basketball game last night...it was really scary and then funny after the fact.  I guess we watched too much Christmas Story this past Christmas.
  • Have a great week!
